Ride program notes
The 2025 calendar below provides key information for each ride.
The 2025 calendar is a rolling wave plan, updated monthly covering at least the next three months of riding activity.
Further details of each ride (departure location and time, route, stops, fuel, lunch etc) will be published on the WhatsApp Group Ulysses Canberra Rides. These details will usually be uploaded within one week of the ride date.

JANUARY 2025
Date: Wednesday 22 January Destination: Tarago Distance: 150 km Difficulty: Short and easy. Description: Easy pace, mid-week coffee and lunch catch up Leader: George Attard Notes: Opportunity to catch up before Australia Day – as there is no ride Sunday 26 January.
February 2025
Date: Sunday 2 February Destination: Murrumbateman Distance: 100 km Difficulty: Short and easy Description: Easy pace, coffee and lunch catch up Leader: Scott Huxtable Notes: An easy short ride today, as a number of Ulysses members will have returned Saturday from a four-day tour into the Victorian High Country. Date: Sunday 9 February 2025 Destination: Tumut (TBC) Distance: 400km Difficulty: Long. Some ride fitness and personal endurance required. Leader: Kevin Sherman and George Attard Notes: Kevin and George will plan this ride and publish details closer to the time. In part, the destination will depend upon whether Dave is able to arrange a Shelbie memorial ride Thursday 13 Feb – as both rides are quite long. If the destination is Tumut, George might lead a dirt road contingent. Date: Thursday 13 February 2025 Destination: Shelbie McDonald memorial ride (TBC) Distance: 400km Difficulty: Long. Some ride fitness and personal endurance required. Description: A ride to place a road side memorial for Shelbie McDonald Leader: Dave Mossman Notes: This ride is not yet confirmed. Dave will do some research and planning before confirming and publishing the details. Date: Sunday 16 February 2025 Destination: Mogo Distance: 300km Difficulty: Medium length. Some steep twisty bits and likely coastal traffic. Leader: Scott Huxtable Date: Wednesday 19 February Destination: Boorowa–Crookwell Loop Distance: 240 km Difficulty: Medium length. Not overly difficult. Leader: George Attard Date: Sunday 23 February Destination: Snowy Loop via Adaminaby Distance: 500 km Difficulty: Very long ride. Considerable ride fitness and personal grit required. Leader: Kevin Sherman
March 2025
Date: Sunday 2 March 2025 Destination: Araluen Distance: 300 km Difficulty: Medium length. Tight, steep twisties coming into Araluen Leader: John Grace Notes: Recently, there has been some loose gravel on the road where it had been repaired Date: Wednesday 5 March 2025 Destination: Gunning Distance: 150 km Difficulty: Short and easy Description: Easy pace, coffee and lunch catch up Leader: Scott Huxtable Date: Sunday 9 March 2025 Destination: Candelo Distance: 450 km Difficulty: Long ride. Some ride fitness and personal endurance required. Leader: Kevin Sherman Date: Sunday 16 March 2025 Destination: Harden Distance: 250 km Difficulty: Medium length. Relatively easy ride. Leader: George Attard Date: Wednesday 19 March 2025 Destination: Ride for Rheumatoid Description: The Ride for Rheumatoid arrives in Canberra. Canberra Branch of Ulysses will lead the group into, around and out of Canberra. Difficulty: Easy ride into, around and out of Canberra. Leaders: Dave Mossman, John Grace, Scott Huxtable Notes: The ride will be joined by other Ulysses members, some of whom will continue onto the National Rally in Armidale. No other rides will be programmed for the period of the Ride for Rheumatoid (19 Mar to 23 Mar), National Rally (Monday 24 Mar to Sunday 30 Mar) and the days afterwards as members make their way home to Canberra.
April 2025

Destination: Kangaroo Valley Loop
Distance: 400 km
Difficulty: Long ride. Some ride fitness and personal endurance required
Leader: Scott Huxtable,
Notes: This ride usually happens on a Sunday. We want to try doing it mid-week,
as traffic will likely be less in this popular Sydney weekend destination.
Date: Sunday 13 April
Destination: Ulysses BBQ, hosted by Bulldog. Location TBC
Distance: Not too far!
Difficulty: Short and easy.
Description: A very popular social gathering event.
Leader: Probably not required, as we’ll likely all meet at the BBQ site.
Date: Wednesday 16 April
Destination: Boorowa–Crookwell Loop
Distance: 240 km
Difficulty: Medium length. Not overly difficult.
Leader: Dave Mossman
Notes: Great opportunity to catch up before Easter. No rides scheduled over the Easter period.
Date: Friday 25 April 2025
Destination: Temora Anzac Day Service
Distance: 400 km
Difficulty: Long ride. Some ride fitness and personal endurance required. Some slow riding skills would be
helpful when at Temora.

Notes: Wear your or your family’s medals & ribbons. In the past, the Ulysses contingent has joined the
formal ANZAC parade up the main street whilst mounted on our motorcycles.
