We woke to grey clouds that burnt off to uncover blue skies and a glorious day breaking as we met at the rally point at the new Caltex petrol station at Epic on Northbourne Ave at Watson. A good number of bikes and their riders gathered to discuss the day’s travel plans to Tarago Pub for lunch.

We then travelled along the Tarago Rd where we turned off onto Currawang Rd to travel through a quiet stretch of country roads to allow the rusty riders to concentrate on their riding skills.
We turned back onto the Goulburn Rd at Wakefield Park to head back towards Lake Bathurst and then on to The Loaded Dog at Tarago arriving on the dot of midday for lunch.
I had rung the manager earlier to let them know we were coming out for lunch and a table had been set up in front of a fire where we sat to consume a variety of foods for lunch. While we were sitting discussing the affairs of the nation, the might of the humble pen overcame the technology gap by giving a non functioning music gismo, that was about to be thrown out by its owner, the gift of life. Does the music gizmo still work Trevor?
Derick and Margaret arrived with their son-in-law to join our party after taking a different route, via the shops, to Tarago.
To our surprise we noticed that Gary McDonald had ordered a sticky date pudding without the provision of the twelve spoons for the rest his companions to help him taste his dessert. Poor planning on Gary’s part.
After time to talk and relax we headed off back to Bungendore where a few stopped for a coffee at a local café, Thymes 33, while the remainder headed up Mac’s Reef Rd back to their Canberra homes.
Another successful Canberra Ulysses Club ride enjoyed by a number of riders and sidecar passenger.
