Both El Presidente Ian and Social Sec. Andrea have sent out emails on the subject - if you've missed 'em they are pasted below for your reading pleasure :
G’day all,
The email and flyer below are self-explanatory, but let me add that Xmas in July is our premier social event of the year — and definitely the most fun!
We held it at Ewe’n Me a couple of years ago and it was a great night, especially as the restaurant is in the Thunderbird Motel so the walk home was quite easy.
Put it in your calendar, book your accommodation and let Andrea know you’re coming (for dinner numbers). And don’t forget to bring a ‘Secret Santa’ gift up to the value of $15. It can be useful, funny or both — but you might end up with it, so buy something you wouldn’t mind taking home yourself (i.e. no crap!).
Hope to see you there!
Cheers,
Ian

AGM 2017 - the truth of the matter!
Some say "what happens at the AGM stays at the AGM". Certainly there's rarely a ride report for the AGM and only a smattering of pictures appear on Facebook ; perhaps it is true...
Then we have recently been sent a link to this video report from Darryl and Trish Wells of Redcliffe Branch, Brisbane to reveal all. No wonder its been kept a secret.. - everyone has been too busy having a really good time!(Thanks Team Wells!!)

Ride Report Canowindra 4 June 2017
Just four hardy Ulyssians braved a chilly and foggy morning for the ride to Canowindra. According to the Goldwing’s weather station, it was 6° as we headed out of town on the Barton Highway, though this dropped to 5° as we rounded fogbound Yass.
The fog had closed in around Murrumbateman and grew even denser on Lachlan Valley Way but by the time we passed Kangiara we had popped out into brilliant sunshine, which continued for the rest of the day. A coffee and a pie at the Superb Café, where it was a balmy 12°, chased away any chill that still remained in our bones.
From Boorowa our route took us via Frogmore, Wyangala Dam and Woodstock. This is a brilliant road, with a mostly good surface, lots of sweeping corners and beautiful scenery. Throw in a few tight twisty-turnies climbing away from the dam and by the time we got to Canowindra we were feeling pretty happy.
We dined in the historic Garden of Roses café, which started life in the 1920s as a Greek café and still boasts a full-width stained glass window and a pool table. Robyn and her daughter-in-law Sam made us feel very welcome.
From Canowindra is was just a quick jaunt back home with, fortuitously, most of the traffic on the Barton heading in the opposite direction.

AGM 217 News - Intercom recieved 4th June
Here is a copy of todays Intercom, bringing us an update regarding the 2017 AGM:
June 2017
Dear Members
Thanks to all those members who made the trip to the AGM Event in Wauchope, and also enjoyed time in Port Macquarie we've had some excellent feedback - overwhelmingly positive feedback and we will of course discuss the negatives. Either way, thanks for the comments.
Thanks to the AGM Event Committee, the National AGM Event Coordinator, the Host Branch, and the volunteers for the fantastic event and that nearly perfect weather! Thanks also to our wonderful sponsors. There have been many photos shared on social media and the upcoming Riding On magazine will also have photos and stories from the event.
The National Committee for 2017 as voted for at the AGM in Wauchope is:
President - Jen Woods #21395
Vice President - Mark Seja #39695
Secretary - Henry Rokx #28636
Treasurer - John Osborne #41785
Committee - Peter Baulch #27672
Committee - Allan Pratt #9186
Committee - Dave Wright #51871
Traders also gave us some fantastic feedback - Dale McBride, Group Marketing Manager from Peter Stephens Importers said "It was great to be involved in the Ulysses AGM event in Wauchope last week. Between the Triumph and Moto Guzzi brands we conducted over 500 demo rides which is imperative in exposing the Ulysses community to our product ranges. For many riders it was their first chance to experience the all new Triumph Bonneville Bobber as well as the big bore cruisers from Moto Guzzi including the Audace and Eldorado models. We have received some excellent feedback on the ride route and the range available as a result of our ride programme and look forward to seeing Ulysses riders on our motorcycles in the future".
Sincere congratulations to Helena Gritton 14027 (Life member no. 19) and Mike Abberfield 8158 (Life Member no. 18) on being awarded a Life Membership of the Ulysses Club at the Annual General Meeting in Wauchope.
Congratulations also go to the Dearnley Medal awardees:
Ray Parker 49825 (Dearnley Medal No. 56)
Ron Howell 45382 (Dearnley Medal No. 57)
Suzuki is holding a series of Road Shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, to launch their Next Generation in Street Bikes. Please see the attached flyer for details.
